About the Natural Resource Enterprises Program

The Natural Resource Enterprises (NRE) Program was established in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Cooperative Extension Service at MSU to educate non-industrial private (NIP) landowners in the Southeast about sustainable natural resource enterprises and compatible habitat management practices. The Natural Resource Enterprises Program is focused on effectively delivering information to landowners and community leaders that will encourage informed decision-making regarding the management of land and enterprises.

Landowner workshops

One of the most prominent programs that Natural Resource Enterprises Program personnel undertake are annual landowner workshops. These workshops are hosted on private property - usually on land where natural resource enterprises or habitat management programs are currently being used.

Previous workshops have featured a hunting lease enterprise, a farm featuring agritourism, property managed for deer and quail, property with a fee-fishing enterprise and hunting leases, and others.

If you are interested in hands-on learning about enterprises and habitat management, you should attend one of these workshops.
