charleston farms waterfowl demonstration

Wood duckWe are actively involved in assisting private landowners with particular wildlife management practices across the state. One such area that we offer expertise is with waterfowl management efforts, especially within conservation easements offered by USDA. Currently within Mississippi thousands of acres have been converted from traditional agriculture and reforested as part of the USDA’s CRP and WRP programs. As popularity of these programs continues to rise we hope to use demonstration sites, like this one in Tallahatchie County, to supply landowners and managers with the basic knowledge of seasonally managing for waterfowl. This site was developed to demonstrate effective management techniques, approved and encouraged by USDA, to attract waterfowl and sustain them during migration and overwintering periods.
